A landed home in Singapore is the largest single canvas most homeowners ever paint. Get it right and the façade looks new for seven years. Get it wrong and you'll see the streaks, the patches, the algae — every time you pull into the driveway. This page covers exactly what a Shieldguard landed repaint looks like. We paint every landed type in Singapore — from terrace house painting for inter-terrace blocks in the east, to premium bungalow and GCB repaints in Bukit Timah and Nassim.

Why landed home painting is its own discipline.

  • Multiple substrates on one elevation. Cement render, timber fascias, metal railings, glass panels — each needs a different primer and topcoat. One paint doesn't cover all.
  • Real weather exposure. Unlike interior walls in an apartment, the full façade takes 2,400 mm of annual rain, full UV and high humidity. Standard interior paint dies in 18 months.
  • Boundary trees and gardens. Protection matters. Tarpaulin, dust screens and careful crew choreography are part of the scope.
  • Garden-level dampness. Plinth-level walls take rising damp. They need their own primer and ventilation strategy.
  • Visible decisions. Colour and finish choices show up daily. Sample boards on the actual wall — at morning, noon and dusk — are standard.

One contract for everything outside. Most landed repaints benefit from bundling: external wall waterproofing, crack and render repair, anti-corrosive coatings on railings, then the top-coat system. One scaffold, one PM, one warranty.

Standard scope — landed home exterior.

  1. Site protection. Tarpaulin over landscaping, drop sheets to driveways, masking to glazing and timber.
  2. Pressure-wash entire façade. Remove chalking, biofilm and loose paint.
  3. Defect survey. Mark every hairline crack, hollow render area, sealant failure.
  4. Crack treatment. Rout out, prime, fill with PU sealant.
  5. Render repair. Hack hollow areas, replaster with polymer-modified mortar, cure.
  6. Anti-fungal / anti-algae wash. Standard for Singapore exteriors.
  7. Substrate-matched primer. Alkali-resistant on new render, stain-blocking on water-marked plaster.
  8. First top coat. Roller- or spray-applied. Wet-film thickness logged.
  9. Second top coat. Perpendicular pass.
  10. Metalwork — gates, railings, grilles. Zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat.
  11. Timber fascias and soffits — sand, prime, two coats.
  12. Joint walk, snag list, sign-off, warranty certificate.

Paint system options.

Our exterior painting scope for landed homes goes beyond just rolling on a topcoat. Every exterior painting job starts with a full-elevation defect survey — cracks mapped, hollow render marked, rotten timber flagged. We then repair, prime and apply a two-coat weathershield system matched to each elevation's exposure. North and west-facing walls take more UV and driving rain, so they may get a different coating specification from sheltered elevations. This is what separates a professional exterior house painting job from a cosmetic refresh. If you're searching for home painting in Singapore that goes beyond a basic roller job, this is the specification that separates a 7-year finish from a 2-year one.

Colour consultation.

Choosing landed exterior colour from a 50 mm chip is how mistakes happen. Our process:

  • Shortlist 3–5 colours from your moodboard or our standard palette.
  • Paint 600 mm × 600 mm sample patches on the actual wall, on at least two elevations.
  • Review the patches in morning sun, midday and evening shadow. Choose with confidence.
  • Final colour locked in writing before any production coat goes up.
